Music Monday - Crazy On You - Heart

Today I wanted to take a lil break from Stevie and Fleetwood Mac and bring you another of my very favorite bands.... Heart. Ann and Nancy Wilson just flat out ROCK! Ann has probably the most powerful female voice I have ever heard.... she is just amazing.

I chose Crazy On You because not only has it been one of my favorite songs since I was a teenager and got a copy of Dreamboat Annie... I fell in love with this live version all over again years later when I discovered their acoustic CD The Road Home. But not even only that... I just felt like this song fits how I've been feeling lately.... I've just felt like I'm screaming like crazy on the inside while struggling to keep the calm exterior under control on the outside.... and I might just go crazy on somebody....

So here it is.... Crazy On You... by Heart..... from The Road Home

Ok so what a day.... what a week it's been...

Steffie has been in rare form with Daddy gone... getting into things she normally doesn't bother... dumping a bucket full of teeny tiny gravel on my living room carpet.... doing everything I've told her not to do... and nothing I've told her to do. So today I decided we had both better get out of this house and go somewhere so she could bounce off the walls without me screaming at her and spanking her... so we loaded up and made our weekly library run and then headed straight for Buddy Bear's. It fit the bill perfectly! She got to bounce and climb and play with other kids for hours.... and I got to have an adult conversation! YIPPEEE!!! My cousin's wife happened to be there and we never really get to talk much because we usually only see each other at the family Christmas. We had a great chat and got to know each other better and found out that we have quite a bit in common.

On the down side... I got home and discovered that one of the new kitties had peed on my bed! Hopefully it was one time thing and maybe happened because maybe someone closed the door to the laundry room where the litter box is located. If this happens again they'll be spending alot of time outside.... if you can't use the litterbox... you can't stay inside.... house rules...

Adrian will be home tomorrow.... bearing gifts for Steffie. He went shopping and bought her 2 Tinkerbell shirts... Tinkerbell flipflops.... a Tinkerbell jewelry box... and a Tinkerbell skirt... all for $25 on sale. I taught him well ;) We'll all be glad to see him pulling up the drive. Steffie has missed him terribly.... she has counted the days... seriously... she knows the days of the week and has counted every day how many days until Daddy comes home.

Tomorrow lil Austie will be here bright and early to spend the day... so I probably won't get much blogging and dropping done... so forgive me if I don't visit your blog tomorrow.

Cover Girl Outlast Lipstain - Product Review

Several weeks ago I joined BzzAgent because I love to try new products and give my opinions of them. I was excited to receive this new product from Cover Girl as my first product to try out and review. I don't wear lip color very often because I'm always afraid it will smugde... smear... wear off in spots... or will get on my teeth and look horrible. And let's face it... most men (including my husband) don't like it because they don't want to kiss their lady and end up wearing her lipstick.

Cover Girl Outlast Lipstain is amazing! I applied it yesterday for the first time to see how long it would last.... it lasted for 4 hours and only came off when I wiped it off with my napkin at dinner time. It stayed on throughout the day while I drank my coffee... and it didn't smudge and it didn't even leave lip marks on my coffee cup.

Cover Girl Outlast Lipstain is not a lipstick... it's lipstain which infuses to your lips for more staying power. It is much lighter than a normal lipstick and after a few minutes I even forgot that I was wearing it. Applying it is easy because of the marker tip... it lined my lips easily using the point of the tip and then I held the tip flat against my lips to fill them in with beautiful color. It won't dry out your lips because it is water-based (not alcohol-based) and it contains conditioners. It also has a light raspberry-vanilla scent and flavor and comes in 10 beautiful colors. You can wear it alone or top it off with a clear gloss for a shiney look.

I can't wait until Adrian gets home on Friday so I can give it the kiss test... it promises to be kissable!

You can find Cover Girl Outlast Lipstain at mass retailers where Cover Girl products are sold for a suggested retail price of $7.29 And don't forget to check your Sunday papers to see if there are some CoverGirl coupons in there!

Two New Furbabies!

I got two new babies today! These two guys are named Axel (after Axel Rose from Guns N Roses) and Ace (after Ace Frehley from Kiss). Sarah called and said one of her friend's Mom didn't want her cats anymore and wanted to know if I would take them. She knows I can't turn away a kitty that needs a home! Yes I am one of those crazy cat ladies. I love cats and everyone knows it... so when they don't want their cats anymore I am the one they call. I have taken in many cats over the years.

These two guys are really sweet. They are neutered... and they are litter trained... and in the short time they've been here today they have just made themselves right at home. They explored the house... had a snack... and have been friendly to the other cats too. This is unusual for adult cats... they usually have a hard time adjusting to an new environment and new people... and especially to new animals. I've taken in several adult cats on a temporary basis for their owners when they were in circumstances where they couldn't have their cats and most of the time the adjustment was hard for them. I think these two guys are gonna be fine here and will be permanent members of our family.

This beautiful baby is Gypsy... he is about a year old. Gyspy was brought to me last summer when he was about 3 weeks old. I don't know what happened to his mother but the lady who brought him to me had to work and couldn't feed him every 3 hours. I took him in and became his mommy. One day he got very sick and was just lifeless and weak... I continued to give him water and kitten formula and drops of syrup to keep his blood sugar up. When I went to bed late that night I just knew that I would get up the next morning and he would be gone... he was so pitiful and my heart was broken. But I woke up the next morning and immediately went to check on him and he was just fine... like nothing had ever happened. He's been strong and healthy ever since. He's my sweety baby. I have a real soft spot for black kitties... imagine that lol

These two babies have become Steffie's kittens... there are actually 3 of them. My cat Lucy had them outside under the house (I tried to keep her in but she sneaked out). When I finally found them they were a about 4 weeks old so I brought them inside to try and tame them (they were wild at that point). Two of them had eye infections that I've had to doctor and keep a close watch on. Kaleena (the lil black tortoise shell one had it so bad she couldn't even see. Her lil eyes were matted shut... swollen and red and the actual eye balls were glazed... I thought this poor baby would be blind all her life. But we kept cleaning them and putting meds in them and one day I saw her playing with another kitten's tail. I was sooo happy because I knew she could see! Steffie carries these kittens around now and plays with them.... they are her babies :)

We have 2 more kittens that I couldn't tame (I'm still working on it) and a female adult named Emmy... she's a tortoise shell with emerald green eyes... she was brought to me as a kitten as well and we've had her now for about 7 years. And we have a dog named Sugar that we've had for about 8 years too.

And that's the zoo... won't Adrian be surprised when he gets home to find 2 more?! lol... he knows not to leave me unattended...

Music Monday - Sisters of the Moon - Fleetwood Mac

Sisters of the Moon is another one of my favorite songs and I love the live versions. I love to watch Mick play the drums... I just love the faces that he makes! I don't think I've ever seen anyone who loves to play the drums as much as Mick Fleetwood does... you can just tell that he's having the time of his life when he's playing the drums. And Stevie just gets soooo into her songs... she's beautiful as always... doing her spins... and check out the 'spiderlady' moves on the last verse... amazing.... soooo.... witchy!!!

Well this hectic week has come to an end and the coming week promises a more quiet and relaxed atmosphere.... at least for now...lol.... we'll see how that works out.

Adrian leaves in the morning on a business trip to Nashville and he'll be gone all week. He used to travel for his work on a weekly basis and sometimes two weeks at a time. But now after over a year of working locally we've gotten used to him being home everyday again so this will be a tough week for Steffie... she knows he's going and she's a Daddy's Girl so she's already started crying about it. She did help him pack his suitcase... how brave and sweet. It's so hard for a 3 year old to understand... but she is trying to be a big girl about it. I'll miss him as well but I know the week will be gone quickly and he'll be home Friday night. My reward for being a big girl about it is that I don't have to cook dinner everyday.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Weekend Bullshit

Penn & Teller: Bullshit!Image via Wikipedia

So it's another Saturday night with nowhere to go and nothing to do except to curl up on the couch and watch another episode of Penn and Teller's Bullshit that I recorded on the DVR (which by the way... I have become very spoiled to... and couldn't... okay wouldn't want to... live without). It seems that everyone else has full and busy weekends... but most of the time we are just sitting home. This seems to go in cycles for us... we'll have long periods of time... a few years maybe... where we have someplace to go... friends to spend time with... every weekend. And then for whatever reasons we'll go through a phase where we have no place to go and no one to hang out with on the weekends. I think I would prefer a happy medium to this... with some socializing on the weekends and a weekend here and there at home. But I really like to be with friends or family on weekends... especially since I'm stay-at-home-Mom and don't get to see many people through the week. We just don't have friends with small children... so it makes socializing difficult since we do have a small child.

Oh well... Penn and Teller here I come...

P.S. I do like this show but it is not one of my favorites... it's just one we can both agree on watching... I'll watch my favorites later when Adrian goes to bed.

Can Your Emergency Room Deny You Service??

Apparently they can.... even though they have a large sign in the waiting room that states that they cannot refuse services if you are unable to pay.

Sarah has a history of ovarian cysts (she has never been hospitalized but was diagnosed by a doctor a few years ago).... she has been experiencing pain in her abdomen off and on for a couple of months now and hurting for the last few days. She requested that I take her back to the ER (she's been twice in the last few months for the same pain)... and this time they refused to treat her unless she could give them $125. She is 20 years old and has no insurance and no job so she doesn't have $125. She informed them that refusing service is illegal... and that it states so on their own sign in the waiting room... but they still sent her packing.

I really think that she'll be ok for now... but what if she's not??? What if it is another cyst and it ruptures??? She's getting a friend to take her to a different ER tonight... hopefully they'll treat her.

This is the United States of America and we can't get medical treatment because we can't afford it???

I'm Gonna Be A Grandma... again...

Glitter Graphics

Well we got the news this week that our 3rd grandbaby is on it's way. My son Justin and his wife Hannah are expecting again... probably around March or April... she hasn't seen the doctor yet so we don't have a due date as of now. Now that the shock has worn off they are beginning to accept that they are having another child and I think they'll do fine. This is the couple who just graduated high school and has a 2 year old... and is already buying their own house. They were planing to wait and finish college before having more children. I really hope that this doesn't stop them. It's going to be hard... but finishing high school and working and having a lil one was hard too. They are hard workers... and a sweet couple so I'm betting they'll stick with it.

Steffie is soooo excited... she loves babies... and she wants to know where Hannie's new baby is... I explained to her that it's in Hannie's tummy and it has to stay in there until it grows and gets big enough to come out. So now she says she has a baby in her tummy too... but it can't come out until she is all grown up. I just love how she calls Hannah Hannie... too cute!

Another baby to love : )
