Two New Furbabies!

I got two new babies today! These two guys are named Axel (after Axel Rose from Guns N Roses) and Ace (after Ace Frehley from Kiss). Sarah called and said one of her friend's Mom didn't want her cats anymore and wanted to know if I would take them. She knows I can't turn away a kitty that needs a home! Yes I am one of those crazy cat ladies. I love cats and everyone knows it... so when they don't want their cats anymore I am the one they call. I have taken in many cats over the years.

These two guys are really sweet. They are neutered... and they are litter trained... and in the short time they've been here today they have just made themselves right at home. They explored the house... had a snack... and have been friendly to the other cats too. This is unusual for adult cats... they usually have a hard time adjusting to an new environment and new people... and especially to new animals. I've taken in several adult cats on a temporary basis for their owners when they were in circumstances where they couldn't have their cats and most of the time the adjustment was hard for them. I think these two guys are gonna be fine here and will be permanent members of our family.

This beautiful baby is Gypsy... he is about a year old. Gyspy was brought to me last summer when he was about 3 weeks old. I don't know what happened to his mother but the lady who brought him to me had to work and couldn't feed him every 3 hours. I took him in and became his mommy. One day he got very sick and was just lifeless and weak... I continued to give him water and kitten formula and drops of syrup to keep his blood sugar up. When I went to bed late that night I just knew that I would get up the next morning and he would be gone... he was so pitiful and my heart was broken. But I woke up the next morning and immediately went to check on him and he was just fine... like nothing had ever happened. He's been strong and healthy ever since. He's my sweety baby. I have a real soft spot for black kitties... imagine that lol

These two babies have become Steffie's kittens... there are actually 3 of them. My cat Lucy had them outside under the house (I tried to keep her in but she sneaked out). When I finally found them they were a about 4 weeks old so I brought them inside to try and tame them (they were wild at that point). Two of them had eye infections that I've had to doctor and keep a close watch on. Kaleena (the lil black tortoise shell one had it so bad she couldn't even see. Her lil eyes were matted shut... swollen and red and the actual eye balls were glazed... I thought this poor baby would be blind all her life. But we kept cleaning them and putting meds in them and one day I saw her playing with another kitten's tail. I was sooo happy because I knew she could see! Steffie carries these kittens around now and plays with them.... they are her babies :)

We have 2 more kittens that I couldn't tame (I'm still working on it) and a female adult named Emmy... she's a tortoise shell with emerald green eyes... she was brought to me as a kitten as well and we've had her now for about 7 years. And we have a dog named Sugar that we've had for about 8 years too.

And that's the zoo... won't Adrian be surprised when he gets home to find 2 more?! lol... he knows not to leave me unattended...

I think you could be in trouble when he gets home. Maybe you can convince him they were there all the time.(GRIN)

LOL... or maybe he'll think there's just one... they look sooo much alike I'm having a hard time telling them apart.

The new babies are beautiful. It's a good thing that I live in a condo where I'm limited to 2 small pets or I would have 50. I sometimes think that I love animals more than people.

Nice to see I'm not the only crazy cat lady, lol. It's a running joke that no one can tell the difference if there's another cat in here since they are all black except for one.
